Fennecus Zerda The fennec fox is the smallest of the deserts foxes, but its large ears, measuring 6 inches, appear to be from a bigger relative. The fennec fox lives in the sandy Sahara and in North Africa. Their nocturnal habits help them deal with the heat of the desert environment, and some physical adaptations help as well. Their bat-like ears make body heat and help the foxes keep cool. Fennec foxes have long, thick hair that warms them during cold nights and protects them from hot sun during the day. Fennec foxes live underground. Fennec foxes eats plants but also eat rodents, eggs, reptiles, and insects. The fennec fox can go long periods without water. They also can live up to 12 years. The fennec foxes main predators are the Caracal and the Eagle Owl.

Meerkat- Anna Colebert
Meerkat
The Meerkat is a small mammal, is a member of the mongoose family. Meerkats live in all parts of the Kalahari Desert in Botswana and in South Africa. A group of Meerkats is called a mob, gang, or clan. A Meerkat gang often has about twenty Meerkats, but super families have fifty or more Meerkats. Meerkats have a life span of twelve to fourteen years. Meerkats are usually brown and black. They grow to about one foot or thirty centimeters. Meerkats weight about two pounds or zero and nine tenths kilograms.
Meerkats called the "Solar Panel of the Animal World," meerkats use their dark-skinned, sparsely furred bellies to warm up. They have non-retractable claws and four toes. There activity is Diurnal during the day and are very active. The dark eye markings act like built-in sunglasses and have closeable ears. Meerkats live in grass-lined burrows that are shared with ground squirrels and yellow mongooses. Mob moves several times annually if food supply is depleted. Meerkats are very territorial and will fiercely defend their home from other meerkat gangs. Meerkats are "snack size" for a number of animals, so one always stands guard while the others forage or nap. They have litters up two to five babies. Meerkats eat scorpions, beetles, spiders, centipedes, millipedes, worms, crickets,
small mammals, small reptiles, birds, eggs, tubers and roots. In short Meerkats are an interesting animal.

Snow Leopard
The Snow leopard or Panthera uncia is 1 of the animals on the endangered species list. They mainly eat
Wild sheep, marmots, birds and other animals. They have a Soft grey coat, white on belly. Head and limbs marked with solid black or brown spots; body is covered with brown blotches ringed with black, and a black streak runs down the back. Tail is heavy with fur and the bottom of the paws are covered with fur -- for protection against snow and cold. These animals like to call mountain steeps, and coniferous forests their home. But, do to over hunting and habitat lose, these animals are few and far between. The snow leopard is a solitary animal and only paring during the breeding season. They are extremely rare because hunters and fur traders hunt them for their fur and skin. By law it is now illegal to sell, or trade snow leopard fur or skin.
